What changed

The Icelandic Agricultural Expo has opened at Laugardalshöll in Reykjavík and runs from Friday 9 October to Sunday 11 October 2026. Bændablaðið reports that around 100 exhibitors are taking part in the third edition of the event. The organisers describe it as an event for the public as well as people who work in agriculture.

What visitors can see

The Bændablaðið report highlights Icelandic food producers, tastings and food purchases alongside farm machinery, older tractors, forestry, land restoration, solar energy, safety equipment and drone technology. It is a practical look at rural food and work rather than a conventional sightseeing attraction.

Opening hours and admission

The official programme lists opening hours from 14:00 to 19:00 on Friday, 10:00 to 18:00 on Saturday and 10:00 to 17:00 on Sunday. The official admission page lists general admission at 3500 Icelandic krónur, with student, pensioner and disabled admission at 2500 Icelandic krónur. Tickets are sold at the entrance and the organiser says each ticket is valid for the whole exhibition.

Who is affected

The event is most relevant to visitors interested in Icelandic food, farming, rural life and practical technology. People already spending the weekend in Reykjavík gain a time limited indoor event, while anyone making a special journey should remember that this is an agriculture exhibition with trade displays as well as public activities.
