A dated programme for the closing weekend

Reykjavík International Film Festival has published its Saturday programme for 3 October, as the festival approaches its final day on Sunday 4 October. For visitors staying in the capital, the announcement offers a way to build a city afternoon or evening around a screening and a conversation with filmmakers.

Three Saturday highlights

RIFF lists these screenings at Háskólabíó on 3 October. Times are local Iceland time.

These are selections from the official programme, not the whole festival schedule. Check the individual listing again before leaving for the venue, especially if the discussion is your main reason for attending.

Language and access

The festival’s visitor FAQ says films have English subtitles, with an exception for YouthRIFF screenings, which have Icelandic subtitles. Families should check the specific screening rather than assume the same language arrangement applies throughout the programme.

RIFF says all screening rooms at Háskólabíó are wheelchair accessible. Visitors who need lift access for room 4 should contact ticket office staff. The festival also uses the Nordic House, so check the venue on your chosen listing.

What to do next

Start with the organiser’s current programme and confirm the screening time, venue and availability directly. The FAQ says tickets are not sold on site at the Nordic House. An online ticket’s QR code can be shown at the door.

Our practical suggestion is to choose one screening that fits your existing city plans and leave room for any discussion afterwards. Use our Reykjavík guide for the rest of your visit. This is a dated final weekend briefing; travellers arriving after 4 October should use the organiser’s later announcements.
