What changed
Keflavík Airport says TAP Air Portugal plans to begin direct service between Lisbon and Keflavík on 1 April 2027. The seasonal route is planned to operate three times each week until 28 October 2027.
This adds another direct option between Portugal and Iceland. It is a future service, not a flight operating now, and the announcement does not guarantee a seat or fare on any date.
Who may find the route useful
The route may suit visitors starting in Portugal and Iceland residents travelling towards Lisbon. Keflavík Airport also points to possible connections through Lisbon to Faro, Madeira and destinations in Africa and South America.
Connection options depend on the timetable and the ticket you choose. Check whether every flight is on one booking, how baggage is handled and how much time the connection allows.
Plan the Iceland arrival separately
Keflavík Airport is outside Reykjavík. Compare your scheduled arrival with airport transport, accommodation check in and any onward journey. Our Reykjavík guide can help with the city part of a visit, while Travel conditions links to current road, weather and safety information.
Avoid placing a fixed activity too close to arrival. Flights, baggage collection and road conditions can change the time needed to reach the city or another part of Iceland.
What to check before booking
- Confirm that TAP still lists your exact travel dates.
- Read the complete timetable in both directions.
- Check baggage rules and connection details for the ticket you choose.
- Plan transport from Keflavík Airport using your actual arrival time.
- Recheck the flight and current Iceland travel conditions shortly before departure.
The airport announcement is useful for early planning. Your confirmed airline booking remains the source for your own journey.
