What changed

Herjólfur’s 3 November notice said the operator planned one morning round trip through Landeyjahöfn. It listed a 07:00 departure from Vestmannaeyjar and a 10:45 departure from Landeyjahöfn. Both times are local Iceland time, UTC, and had passed when this article was reviewed.

Later sailings remain unconfirmed

The operator said information about later sailings would be published at 11:00. At our 12:06 check, the latest accessible notice did not include that later plan. Do not use the morning times as evidence that another crossing will operate. Read the newest operator notice and confirm your booking before setting out.

Check connections, not just the ferry time

This matters for island visitors fitting a crossing around accommodation, a rental car return or onward travel. Confirm both directions before committing to a day trip. The operator also warns that sailings may move between Landeyjahöfn and Þorlákshöfn at this time of year, so passengers should not leave a vehicle at either mainland harbour.

Herjólfur’s bus guidance identifies a special connection between Reykjavík and Þorlákshöfn when that harbour is used. Check the connecting service only after the departure harbour is confirmed.

If your booking is affected

The operator’s passenger guidance says cancelled bookings do not automatically move to the next sailing. Contact Herjólfur for instructions. Arrive for check in at least 30 minutes before departure.

For mainland planning, see our Reykjavík guide and Vík guide. Travel conditions carries separately dated road and weather information, not ferry confirmation.
